Dear Steve, do you mind elaborate more as how to obtain the RVOT View ? What do you mean by moving the ” anterior part of the transducer ” mentioned in the video?

      thank you.

      Hi Boon,

      Yes,

When you do the 4chamber view your scan plane is exactly axial (straight across the thorax).
This is the same for the pulmonary vein view except the transducer has been moved ever so slightly towards the head.
Then if you stay axial and keep heading to the head you get the 3 vessel trachea (SAP) view.
To see the right outflow track coming off of the right ventricle you need to adjust slightly and tilt the ANTERIOR end of the transducer slightly back towards the abdomen. It is the first non axial view you do. The rotation is only slight. Think of the 3 vessel trachea (SAP) view where you see the SVC, aorta and pulmonary outflow, but you don’t see the length of the right outflow track connecting back to the right ventricle. When you tilt the anterior end of the transducer back towards the 4 chamber view you see the right outflow track open up and you see the whole length of it.

      I hope this makes sense!

Dam’n fetal hearts are tricky suckers.

      Steve.
