Measurement conventions?

Hi Steve – can you recommended how best to measure tears for new practitioners (like you have outlined for Achilles tears)? I also wondered if you include the peri-bursal fat on SASD measurements?

Hi Ajay,

I am glad you enjoyed the Achilles tips.

I don’t actually measure the SASD bursa, but if I did I would not include the peri-bursal fat.

For supraspinatus tears I measure the width of the tear in shoer axis. Measure the distance from the biceps tendon to the tear. Measure the retraction distance.

What other tears are you wanting top measure?
