How do I convert area reduction to diameter reduction?

This is the graph and formula I use if I have to convert an area reduction into a diameter reduction.

I am always happier to just eyeball it and make a qualatative assessment for stenosis less than 50% diameter reduction, however if I am forced to do something more quantitative this is the graph I use.
